LN Minting

How do I start?

How do I mint?

USING THE LIGHTNING NETWORK (LN) TO MINT INSCRIPTIONS

  1. Choose a Lightning Network wallet: There are several Lightning Network wallets available, including Zap, Eclair, and Phoenix. Choose one that's compatible with your device and suits your needs.
  2. For the use case of simply using to mint free ordinals, use a mobile device with only the gas fee available, say 5-10 dollars. You will be scanning a lot of qr codes so mobile is recommended
  3. Install the wallet: Once you've chosen a wallet, download and install it on your device.
  4. Fund your Bitcoin wallet: Before you can use the Lightning Network, you'll need to have some Bitcoin in your wallet. You can buy Bitcoin on a cryptocurrency exchange or receive it from someone else.
  5. Connect to the Lightning Network: In your wallet, look for an option to connect to the Lightning Network.
  6. Start using the Lightning Network: Once you're connected to the Lightning Network, you can start using it to send and receive Bitcoin quickly and with lower fees than on the regular Bitcoin network.

Once you have set up your Lightning Network wallet and have some Bitcoin balance in it, you're ready to mint. When a mint happens on the Lightning Network, you'll need to provide a receive address on the mint website. Use your ordinal wallet address for this purpose, as that's where the ordinals will be sent.

Next, scan the QR code displayed on the mint website using your mobile Lightning Network wallet. You'll then need to click on the "accept invoice" or "send" button, depending on the wallet you're using. And just like that, your mint transaction is complete!

Congratulations, you have successfully minted using the Lightning Network. It's worth noting that Lightning Network transactions are faster and cheaper than regular Bitcoin transactions, making it an attractive option for minting and other types of transactions.
